Sunday's Song

January 25, 2015

Happy 2015!!

Time has just seemed to pass by so very quickly since my last post.  Many new and exciting things are taking place in my life as God continues to transform me.  In October, the Women of Value group (Christ Star's womens ministry) met for the monthly event and we created dream boards for 2015.  However, God planned my fulfill much of my dream board at the end of 2014.  I put on my board a new wardrobe, on December 13th, He provided me the means and opportunity to do clothes and shoe shopping.  I place on my board a new position with the road to financial security, on November 17th, I became the new bookkeeper for Potomac Falls High School.  A new position with a pay raise.  I wanted to participate in a 5k walk/run.  Not only did I do the Goblin Gallop in October with Susie, but my sister, Sharon and I ran/walked the Color Run in Pittsburgh on November 15th.  November 3rd, my educational dreams began with the starting of American Public University Systems and I am now working towards my Bachelor's degree.  To continue my fitness journey, I was provided the means to get a kettlebell and participate in 100 day challenge.  I placed a picture of a Fitbit and my sons surprised me with the Fitbit Focus for Christmas.  The last surprise was that I put a fireplace on my dream board, and on January 8, 2015 I purchased an electric fireplace media stand.
So, I began a new dream board for 2015 and look forward to the wonderful blessings God is just waiting to bestow upon me.  I know that there will be challenges and tests that I will face as the days past, but with my Savior by my side and walking with me, I know that I will come through them.  I look forward to the lessons that I will learn as He continues with the amazing transformation that I am going through.
Five years ago today was when I was told that my husband wanted a divorce.  It does not hurt anymore.  I am not lonely anymore.  I am happy, content in the life path that God has placed me on.  2014 was the turning point in my life.  I turned 50 on June 21st, yet, I never felt younger in all my life.  There is a peace that God has placed within me.  Yes, the devil tries to take it away and there were moments that he thought he was going to succeed, but God is and always will be the one I call to and He always rescues me.Reason being is because I belong to God.  When the devil cannot get me, he then tries to attack my family, but you see, prayer is powerful and I pray.  I tell the devil; "You will not win, leave my family alone!  God, please send your army of angels to beat back the devil and protect my family."  God does, and God wins!!
December 15th, I was blessed to become a Nona (Italian for grandmother).  Samuel Allen Lingelbach was born.  What a blessing to my family unit.

I forgot just how delicate babies are. My heart melted the moment I met him.  I also realized that the mother lioness still lies within me, dormant but always ready to protect her family.
The holidays came with quiet enjoyment and my New Year's Eve, I slept curled up on my couch along with my dog Lily.  So, I guess you can say that I snoozed in the new year!!
Now, Valentine's day is approaching and once again I am reminded that I am alone.  No special man in my life to share this time with.  Five years is a long time, but I have learned that God definitely knows what is best in my life.  When the time is right, He will have the man that He has planned for me enter into my life.  This man will enjoy spending time with me, watch movies curled up on the couch and eating popcorn.  Lily, my dog, and he will be friends.  She will not mind sharing me with him, LOL!!  But most important of all is he will join me at church and God will be the center of our lives.

2014 found me reaching my weight loss goal and now I am working on toning and building my strength.  I love eating healthy and finding different ways to prepare items to increase their health benefits and be tasty too.  Four years it took, but each and every day was worth it.  God is transforming the outside to reflect what is in.  I could not have done it without God leading me to the people that would help me achieve this goal.  First, was my dog Lily, she got me walking.  Then, my boss, Suzette, encouraged me to try Zumba and I fell in love.  Lydie, my Zumba instructor, pushed me to work my body harder and encouraged me to move beyond Zumba, so I tried Spin class and again fell in love!  However, my Spin instructor left the gym, but a new love was already taking its place.  Boot Camp Party with instructor Dion!!  Talk about a well rounded, full impact workout.  This workout and his encouragement is what enabled me to move forward onto focusing fully on Jillian Michaels.   Jillian Michaels has played a major part in my life and continues to do so.  Her DVD workouts, circuit workouts and meal plans have made an important impact on my life, that I have been able to achieve the final ten pounds of my weight loss at home.  However, realizing that I miss working out with others, I prayed and asked God for guidance to where I should return, which will work best for me.  He answered me by encouraging me to return to Boot Camp Party.  Which I began to return to last week.  This workout is based on a seven week rotation and I can join for two nights a week which I can then do my home workouts on the other nights, which gives me time with Lily and college work.  God is also pushing me to join the Build Your Temple workout on Saturday mornings at Christ Star Church of God in Sterling.  God is putting all my fitness workouts in place to keep me focused and fit.

I am so excited for 2015.  I have promised myself that I will be more diligent to my writing, for He wants me to write, including my blog.  I have changed the name of my blog, a greater reflection of my journey. Life is a wonderful journey and each day is a new adventure.
Today, I learned a new song for church.  This song hit a cord in my heart, for it is a reflection of my life and how things have been happening for me.   This is Sunday's song:

Too Close to the Mirror by Eddie Ruth Bradford

Here is to a wonderful and Blessed day!
